For streaming platforms, the most security-sensitive asset is often the content itself. Licensing agreements require providers to protect movies, shows, and live events from unauthorized distribution. Technologies like DRM and digital watermarking help enforce those protections and can identify where leaked content originated. But once those security mechanisms exist inside an application, they become high-value targets. Attackers often focus on bypassing or tampering with the protections rather than attacking the content directly. That means developers must secure not only the feature, but also the code and infrastructure that preserve its integrity. If attackers target the protection instead of the asset, how should developers prioritize their application security strategy?
